Pop-Up Holiday Marketplace at Bard College

Join the Bard Arts + Crafts Fair Committee for the Pop-Up Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 11am - 5pm at Bard College in Red Hook, NY.

Experience the magic of over 40 artisans' special handmade goods—ranging from one-of-a-kind jewelry, stoneware, knits, soaps and bath salts, clothing and accessories, furniture, out of print books, vinyl, housewares, and much more.

Very special holiday decor, fine art and a wide variety of foods including nuts, cookies, tea and jarred jams are available for your holiday entertaining, stocking stuffers and personal gifts. Vendors who make locally sourced foods add to the celebration!

A great resource for finding personal, one-of-a-kind, unique gifts that hold a special meaning—made by hand with love.

“It feels much better to buy something from people who love what they do," says Bethany Nohlgren, committee member. "You can buy all sorts of gifts; no two vendors are exactly alike. We have people who come back year after year, but they always make new things, so there is always something new to find!”

The event is free and open to the public.

Hudson Valley Farm and Flea Marketplace, November 26, 2016, Motorcyclepedia Museum, Newburgh, NY

Hudson Valley Farm & Flea (HVFF) invites you to celebrate and enjoy products made, grown and crafted locally in the Hudson Valley. The 2016 Farm & Flea will take place at the Motorcyclepedia Museum, an 85,000 square foot not-for-profit museum, that houses a collection of over 500 vintage motorcycles, and much more.

HVFF

Vendors and shoppers alike will thrill to this incredible motorcycle collection. Enjoy strolling among the many fascinating booths and eye-catching bikes on Small Business Saturday, following Thanksgiving, at this one-of-a-kind event.

The purpose of HVFF is to spread a greater awareness of local businesses, farms, innovators and talent who all share the common goal of American-made substance and sustainability—while at the same time, encouraging a greater understanding in the community of matters both green and commercial.

The founder of this event, Laurie Perrone of Cornwall, feels very strongly about reaching out to the many local makers who are working hand in hand with local and regional farmers, designers, and manufacturers to bring American-made products to a larger audience: “There are lots of local craft fairs and events, but I have yet to find an event that so fully supports my Farm2Fashion mission. My objective was to bring together, on a larger scale, the local talent who are also making their goods right here in America."

Collecting all of these local businesses under one roof will foster an environment where customers can be immersed in a total Hudson Valley lifestyle experience on Small Business Saturday, November 26th at the Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburgh, New York.

Wreaths That Look and Smell Fabulous for Seasonal Holiday Decorating

Nothing could be more fragrant or beautiful than natural wreaths decorating your home during the fall and winter holidays. Whether it's the scent of eucalyptus or the combination of eucalyptus with artisan cedar or boxwood, the aroma inspires celebration and a beauty that is clean and natural, a nice substitute for artificial scented candles.

Wreaths add an element of design with a touch of fragrance that makes your home warm and inviting. These featured wreaths from Food52 are ready for hanging over a mantle, on a door or in any room in your home. They are hand-crafted on Creekside's California farm exclusively for Food52 and are a beautiful, simple alternative to classic holiday wreaths.

Food52 came into being out of a deep desire to bring cooks together to share ideas, recipes and ask questions. The site is not just for professional cooks, but for all who wish to learn and perfect the art of cooking. It's also for eaters and that makes just about all of us candidates to explore the vast amount of wonderful information on their site that inspires us to live gracefully.

In 2013, Food52 launched their Shop to add artisans and craftspeople to bring their products along to complement the great food ideas and to celebrate the joy of food, cooking and living. In Food52's own words — Because great food isn't just about ingredients, it's about everything that makes a meal – it's the platter you serve tacos on; the composter in your kitchen; the knife you take on picnics; the beeswax candles that burn on your table; and the honey from the same apiary that you stir into your tea.

So in keeping with this generous spirit for living, here is a perfect way to add some natural beauty to your holiday home decór with these stunning natural wreaths that will far outlive the holiday season.
